Drawing practice

As I am not sure about which style i had to draw I start from the basics and study anatomy. As every style is a representation of reality.

Reference for background city

These are some image reference for the city layout, color both pre and post apocalypse. These are just images that I like, it is not use in any painting.

I like the bow design, I got it from a fashion book I was researching.

 The trees here are huge, really tall, looks very fantasy. I took these pictures myself.

had a look at many clothes for medieval period and I liked this one.

This one shows belly which I think is too much skin.

I think having a bow is still better so I didn't choose this one.

So I went with this design because I think it fits my character the best.

1 Darth Vader

After looking at the helmet I can see clear similarities to Darth Vader helmet

2. L

L is an antagonist which is really great, he has got many unique personality. He is a character which will be remembered. He is an antagonist which is a good guy trying to find the culprit.

3. Mulan

She is a female protagonist which tries to change the norm by being strong and demonstrate that woman can also fight.

Study of medieval princess, medieval princess are usually used for political marrige, they have little power and they have to obey orders from men. They are used as a political tools to gain alliance with marriage.

I made some rough draft on my characters. Concept is snake, rose, medieval, fantasy. At first I plan to draw multiple pose per one characters, like front and side and action pose but it seems like I need to draw background as well so I had to cut the character pose to one each. These are pose and costume ideas for my lilly which are rejected because I feel like it could be better.

This one on top is pretty close to the final look of Lilly. The legs standing in this way I heard it is too stable and looks strong but also boring which is not what I actually wanted.

I am not good at drawing cloth folds so I did not darken the outlines.

I have drawn many faces here to ensure that the one I use looks the best, I always focus on the face the most.

I have studied about drawing character design in manga style from human digicraft academy. Never learn anything about making a story for my character. So I had to do some research on how to write a story. I have played many MMORPG games and most of the time I didn't read anything about story, because most games are just about defeating the evil to protect humanities.
